The microgrid,an integrated form of distributed energy resources(DERs),has played an important role in solving power supply problems in remote areas which are not connected to the grid,as well as handling imbalances of renewable energy sources(RESs)such as wind power and solar power.Optimal allocation of microgrid is the most important issue to be solved in the design phase and the optimal results will directly determine the safety and economic benefits of microgrids.Under these circumstances,demand response(DR)programs,which can change the energy consumption patterns of consumers,could improve market efficiency and benefit RESs integration.In this paper,price-based demand response and incentive-based demand response are combined to participate in optimal sizing of stand-alone microgrid and grid-connected microgrid,and the effect of demand response on economic benefit and allocation of microgrid is analyzed.The main works are summarized as follows:1.The models of wind turbine,photovoltaic array,diesel generator,and battery energy storage system are presented.The characteristics of wind power and solar power are introduced,as well as serving life of diesel generator,and battery energy storage.2.Three kinds of pricing strategies are proposed combining renewable energy generation based on demand information in stand-alone microgrid,including constant price,time-of-use(TOU)price,and real-time price,and model of price-based DR(PBDR)is established.Model of incentive-based DR(IBDR)is built considering patterns of customer response in grid-connected microgrid,and a combinatorial optimization method combining with particle swarm optimization(PSO)is introduced to solve the proposed IBDR model.3.Model of PBDR is applied to conducting the optimal allocation for wind/solar/battery stand-alone microgrid firstly,and the effect of PBDR on economic benefit and allocation of stand-alone microgrid is analyzed.A multi-objective optimal allocation model of microgrid is established considering economy and environmental protection.4.Battery energy system is introduced in microgrid with high photovoltaic power penetration.For the sake of economic benefits,model of IBDR is applied to the optimal allocation for wind/solar/battery grid-connected microgrid,and the effect of IBDR on economic benefit and allocation of grid-connected microgrid is researched.
