With the rapid development of power industry, power grid scale is expanding, the management of power grid operation is more complex, the security and stability of power system is becoming more and more prominent. High voltage transmission line is the lifeline of the power system, plays an important role in the transmission of electrical energy, is safe and stable operation of power system can be guaranteed. Can say, transmission line fault after a fast, accurately judge the fault location, not only greatly reduce the manual patrol line of hard work, to further reduce the time to repair, maximally reduce the losses caused by power failure, and can effectively improve the operation of the power system security, reliability, power enterprises bring very significant social and economic benefits, the accurate fault location on power system security, stability and economic operation has a very important role.Fault location is a determination of the fault location technology, according to the different characteristics of the fault quickly and accurately determine the fault point. Single ended traveling wave fault location only need to fault detection device installed at the end of transmission line, without the need for two terminal data communication and synchronization equipment, has a good economy, strong localization results in real time, without communication device and influence the reliability of terminal equipment, the positioning precision are almost from the influence of transition resistance and line asymmetry. Therefore, if the failure to impedance based on single terminal fault location method of adding filter, will have important theoretical significance and practical value for the accurate fault location of transmission line.Fault recorder and single ended traveling wave fault location for application integration. In the realization of transmission line fault location process,using a single ended traveling wave fault location algorithm and also supplemented by traditional impedance measurement aided distance measurement conditions,maximum reduce CT measurement accuracy,transmission line parameters,short circuit transition resistance and distributed capacitance of transmission line such as factors of influence,ensure the precise positioning of the point of failure. Combined with our current fault recorder working principle, systematically and deeply research of traveling wave fault location theory and technology,and combined with the engineering practice,design a set of traveling wave fault location plug-in and related analysis and processing software,the traveling wave fault location plug-in can be with the fault recorder “traveling wave + impedance” comprehensive location. Especially in connection with the actual in Zhangjiakou area,in field work in applied research,to achieve transmission line fault precise positioning,will further accelerate the repair speed,reduce outage time,has a strong practical and referential significance.
