Zinc/air battery,an energy storage tool,is a new technology in the field of the current cell.It has high energy,high capacity,long life,stable discharge voltage and abundant available raw materials.The zinc/air battery has corrosion problems.Mercury was added to zinc electrode to inhibite corrosion.However,with the rapid economic development,people's environmental awareness is growing.In the pursuit of product quality,people put forward more stringent environmental requirements.Therefore searching the inhibitor in place of mercury to produce mercury-free zinc/air battery is particularly critical.Mercury-free zinc/air batteries abandoning the participation of mercury have the advantages of non-pollution and environmental protection and thus have research value and significance.Based on the analysis and summary of the predecessors' investigations on anode corrosion inhibitor for zinc/air battery,by means of using polarization curve test this study discusses the effects of four kinds of organic additives(polyethylene glycol 200(PEG200),tween 20,hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide,thiourea)and two kinds of inorganic additives(indium hydroxide,zinc oxide)on the zinc electrode.We concluded that these additives have a corrosion inhibition effect on zinc electrode under certain concentration.In this paper,several additives have been selected as the zinc/air button battery cathode basic formula,for constant exile test of electric battery,this paper discusses that discarding polyethylene glycol 200 has no effect on battery power,but increases discharge voltage;adding tween 20 makes battery performance improved;the battery performs preferably when the amount of thiourea is 0.4%;reducing the proportion of electrolyte accounted for the zinc cream,the power is lower.Then the battery formula is further improved:choosing CARBOPOL binder makes battery performance more stable;directly increasing the binder in the electrolyte,the effect is not good;changing the way to join binder and increasing its proportion of alkaline solution makes the discharge of the battery capacity slightly higher and discharge voltage relatively stable when the binder for zinc paste ratio is 1.5%;the most important thing is that there is almost no battery leakage phenomenon.The paper also explores the increase of the concentration of the binder,the influence of aging time on the battery performance and the results demonstrate that the existence of aging step is necessary.The production process of the battery has been improved and optimized and the best battery production process is got.Through the study of electrolyte,formulated electrolyte precautions is that adding proper heating,grinding and mechanical mixing step to dissolve additives fully in alkaline solution can mix it evenly.By exploring the improvement of ball mill and ball mill time,we conclude that when the time of wet grinding is 1.5 hours,the zinc cream we got has better results in the battery test.After the milling and the test process of battery,the aging step is added to make the battery performance more stable.This article also studies the short circuit test of batteries using selected formula.The results showed that the battery does not have leak explosive shell phenomenon after a certain amount of time,indicating that the formulation feasible.Comparing with buton batteries from market,the research on anode materials distribution formula is feasible.Ultimately the cell formula is determined,and the leakage problem of the battery is solved.
