| The high-speed urbanization in China provides fertile ground for the fast development of large cities.The rapid accumulation of population and industry promote the comprehensive progress in social and economic fields.However, the rapid expansion of city brings a series of "urban disease",such as traffic congestion, environmental pollution and so on. The construction of new town is an effective way to promote the optimization of urban space,evacuate the population and industry of central area,and alleviate "urban disease" effectively. But the market-oriented real estate development brings a series of uncontrollable factors. Many new towns fail to become the integrated ones. The limited expansion of Suzhou main city zone contributes to its polycentric spatial structure. But long commute time and distance shows that Suzhou is suffering a serious phenomenon of separation of workplace and residence. As we all know, Suzhou Industrial Park is a planed city with the concept of jobs-housing balance. However, its jobs-housing relationship is leaving far away from the ideal. Through field research we find that there is a serious traffic congestion in many traffic arteries at rush hour. This shows the Industrial Park is suffering a phenomenon of separation of workplace and residence. Based on this background, this paper focuses on the feature of jobs-housing space and relationship from the jobs-housing perspective, and tries to investigate the factors and internal mechanisms caused the separation, and provides reference value for alleviating the separation of workplace and residence in new city.Based on the theory of the new town, new town construction, jobs-housing space and jobs-housing relationship, this article establishes a technology roadmap of the evolutional characteristic of the new town’s jobs-housing space form, the total quantity of jobs-housing, the feature of jobs-housing space, and jobs-housing relationship.Firstly, this paper starts from the evolutional and organizationgal characteristic of the new town’s jobs-housing space form to analyze its property characteristic, and then measures the total quantity of jobs-housing in new town. The results show that the total quantity is balance. So this paper select a typical area as the depth study area and try to find out the feature of jobs-housing space, and jobs-housing relationship of the area.Secondly, this paper deeply analysis its feature of jobs-housing space based on questionnaire and investigation data using the analytical method of "single factor-principal factor-cluster analysis" in Hudong.Thirdly, this paper calculates on the separation degree of jobs-housing based on commuter data, and deeply uncover the internal factors and formation mechanism caused the separation of workplace and residence of the new town conbining with the jobs-housing feature before. And then this paper finds out the mismatch feature of jobs-housing of the new towns in Eastern New Town. Finally, this paper explores the internal mechanism causing this feature and put forward several suggest for construction of the new town in the future. |
