With the construction and improvement of expressway network, it has become an important part of the current road transportation system. Once a serious accident occurred, it would make a significant impact on the regional road network, reduce traffic safety and operational efficiency of expressway, and even might spawn a secondary accidents, environmental pollution and waste of energy and other issues. Emergency traffic organization of expressway under traffic accident plays an important role in reducing the impact of expressway traffic accidents, preventing secondary accidents.Influencing factors and mechanism of each stage of traffic accident duration are analyzed based on the evolution of traffic accidents. And the prediction models of each stage of the traffic accident are constructed. After estimating the influences of traffic accidents upon expressway network, this paper discussed the related factors of the spatial diffusion of traffic accidents. The method of traffic accident classification is given, and the area affected by traffic accident is divided into protected zone, control zone and buffer zone. Models for the range of each zone are constructed.The emergency traffic organizational objective of expressway network is set, the main task of emergency traffic organization is summarized and the framework of decision is designed. Considering the different objects and goals of different zones, emergency traffic organization for protected zone, control zone and buffer zone are proposed respectively.Different forms of emergency traffic organization are discussed under traffic accident when different lanes are closed. Based on the forms of emergency traffic organization, the operating characteristics of vehicles in the protected zone are analyzed. Under these conditions the microscopic simulation model is built by Aimsun, the value of limited speed in protected zone with different traffic organizational forms, and the recommendation limited speed is given from the aspects of safety and efficiency.On the analysis of guiding information requirements of different drivers under traffic accidents, the principle and method for selecting guidance nodes and shunt paths under the network environment are discussed. From the perspective of the overall network operation efficiency, the selection criteria and method for the guidance region are proposed in this paper. The minimum guidance region determination process based on Aimsun traffic simulation software is set. Finally, the proposed method is applied to an example to verify its effectiveness.
