Epoxy asphalt mixture is composed of epoxy asphalt and aggregate according to certain gradation, and it is a kind of new thermosetting material. Different gradation and epoxy asphalt can make its viscoelasticity different. Thus the viscoelastic property of epoxy asphalt mixture is connected closely to its structure characteristics and the viscoelasticity of epoxy asphalt. Therefore, it is necessary to reveal the viscoelastic properties of epoxy asphalt mixture by doing research on materials property and gradation composition characteristics in mesoscopic scale.First, the different creep tests of epoxy asphalt materials were conducted. By comparing creep compliance and creep rate indexes with each other, the viscoelastic characteristics of epoxy asphalt materials were analyzed. Then the creep compliance curves of epoxy asphalt material were fitted by the Burgers model, while the fitting parameters were analyzed and they were converted to the prony series forms which can be identified byABAQUS.Second, several appropriate mesoscopic mechanics models were selected to predict the creep behavior of epoxy asphalt mortar and epoxy asphalt mixture. The errors between the predicted results and the measured results were analyzed to realize the objective of predicting creep performance from mesoscopic scale to large scale. Finally, the digital image processing (DIP) was adopted to obtain image information of creep specimen's cross section. Then the image information was conducted and converted to Vector File through MATLAB, and thus it was imported to ABAQUS for modeling the numerical model based on real mesoscopic structure of epoxy asphalt mixture. After this, the virtual tests were conducted, furthermore, the influence about porosity, different modulus of aggregates and interface were analyzed in the numerical model of epoxy asphalt mixture.
