The rutting is one kind of mailures for asphalt pavement which behaves like a longitudinal strip trench along the rutting direction and cause ridgy deformation at two sides. It is mainly because the asphalt mixture is designed irrationally or the base and surface are not compacted enough. So the mix is poor in stability that asphalt mix cause concretion and permanent deformation due to the repetitive loading. With the rapid economic development, the number of heavy vehicles in China has been increasing dramatically in recent years, as well as axle load and tire pressure. As a result of the large volume channelized truck, rutting has become a major distress in asphalt pavement. The finite element method was preformed on 6 kinds of asphalt pavement in test road of the KUNAN highway and uniaxial penetration creep model. The reasonable uniaxial penetration creep test parameters were concluded through different degree of loading. The uniaxial penetration creep test can reflect the creep characteristics of asphalt mixtures and avoid the temperature and strain limitations in traditional creep test. And then the parameters were used in finite element method which can simulate the creep of pavements of circle roadway, simulate results close to the experiment results. It indicated that the uniaxial penetration creep test is practicable and suitable, so it was used to prodict the rutting of KUNAN highway.
