Cable structure is often used in the large-span space structure.In addition to high strength and saving materials, the structure is also able to create a new, beautiful and light weight architectural style. Spoke single-layer cable net structure is a kind of cable structure, the characteristic of which is that there is a large stiffness compression outer ring connecting to the central tension loop by a single-layer cable which is arranged along the radial direction. The whole structure is a self-balancing system. The only application of this structure is Kuwait National Stadium in the whole world. As the first domestic engineering of spoke single-layer cable net structure, the roof of Suzhou Industrial Park Sports Center Stadium is an ellipse with a long axis of 260 meters and a short axis of 230 meters, and the saddle height difference of the outer ring is 25 meters. Based on the stadium as an engineering background, this paper makes a deep study on the structure performance and the key technology of design.This paper introduces the overall design and construction scheme of Suzhou Industrial Park Stadium. The design scheme includes the project overview, structure form.geometric size of roof, material and specifications, load conditions and the key joints of structure. The construction scheme includes two parts:the overall construction scheme of the steel structure and the traction lifting scheme of the cable net. The ascension of the whole process of cable net includes three steps:Low stress assembly, overall traction and batch anchorage in the air.The premise of performance analysis of flexible cable structure is to determine the geometrical form and prestress distribution. In other words, the pretension field is applied to the cable net to make a self-balancing system in the formation of geometry on cable net. Based on the characteristics of the initial form of the spoke single-layer cable net structure, that as long as the plane projection and the compression outer ring node coordinates is given, the form of inner ring is determined, this paper introduces the methods for determining the spatial form and force finding analysis iteration. As the starting point to the factors of affecting the overall stiffness of the structure, the projection plane shape of inner ring,the projection plane area of inner ring,the saddle height difference of outer ring.initial prestress of cable and the cable section area are changed separately to parametric analysis the static performance of spoke single-layer cable net structure,including vertical stiffness of cable net,cable force,the radial cable force distribution,the reaction force distribution and the deformation and the stress of outer ring beam. According to the analysis results, this paper summarizes the performance characteristics of spoke single-layer cable net structure and provides reasonable suggestions of shape determination and prestress optimization for this type of structure.On this basis,some key problems in structure design of Suzhou Industrial Park Sports Center Stadium is studied, mainly including the significance of the sliding mechanism arranged in the V-shaped column bearing joints, the influence on structure performance in beam-column connections, the column form and inclination and the axial stiffness and bending stiffness of outer ring beam. At last, self-vibration characteristics of this structure are analysed. Through the above studies, the characteristics of Suzhou Industrial Park Sports Center Stadium are mastered. And it is of important reference significance for designing and constructing of similar engineering projects in the future.Finally, the main research contents and results are summarized and it presents a number of contents needing further study.
