Pile foundation is one of important foundation forms, with wide application. During the pile foundation design, the bearing capacity of single pile is the important indicators that must be firstly determined. And bearing capacity of single pile is closely related to the soil around the pile. Northeast of Chongqing is an area slightly dense gravel soil widely distributs. But the experience parameter method of standard for calculating the bearing capacity of single pile did not give an experienced value in slightly dense gravel soil. This paper study on bearing capacity of single pile in gravel soils based on load transfer method, the calculation result that single pile bearing capacity of medium gravel soil colses to the calculation result by the standard method, proofs that load transfer method to get gravel soils bearing capacity of single pile has rationality, and puts forward pile side friction resistance and end resistance experience parameter values suitable for slightly dense gravel soils.This article first introduces the method for determining the bearing capacity of single pile foundation, and introduces the load transfer method and load transfer curve. Due to the different layers' pile load transfer curve is not different, many experts and scholars put forward theories and assumptions, and verified. Then based on the predecessors' measured load transfer curve in the gravel soil, here the hyperbolic model of load transfer for the gravel layer is determined. Through different compactness and stone content gravel soils physical and mechanical experiment, respectively measured shear performance of slightly dense gravel soils and medium gravel soils and friction performance of the concrete. Then based on the load transfer method, uses the parameters measured in the third chapter to study the bearing capacity of single pile in slightly dense gravel soils and medium gravel soils. And the calculation result that capacity of single pile in medium gravel soils compared with the specification results by the standard method, and achieved good results. This paper analyzes the influence factors of bearing capacity of single pile, and then put forward pile side friction resistance and end resistance experience parameter values suitable for slightly dense gravel soils. Finally, using ABAQUS to study the bearing capacity of single pile in gravel soils, campared with calculation results of load transfer method, the result is close to. Load transfer method to caculate bearing capacity of single pile in gravel soils is reasonable, and provide a reference for the bearing capacity determination of single pile in gravel soils.This paper through collect the previous experimental data and analysis, determine load transfer hyperbolic model suitable for gravel soils. Through relative density to divide the gravel soils' compactness, and through the lab large-scale direct shear test, study the shear performance of gravel soils with different compactness. Study on bearing capacity of single pile in gravel soils based on the load transfer method, my work puts forward pile side friction resistance and end resistance experience parameter values in slightly dense gravel soils, and provide a reference for the design of single pile bearing capacity in slightly dense gravel soils.
