Nowadays, the rapid development of shipbuilding industry, ship power system scale is expanding, a variety of non-linear power electronic equipment has been widely put into use,widely used various kinds of electrical and electronic equipment in electrical energy to transform convenient at the same time also resulted in ship power system power quality serious decline. Over the years, the power quality problems caused by accidents and failures have occurred, a serious threat to the safety of the ship, the economic operation. Traditional non reactive power compensation and harmonic wave suppression is and load are connected in parallel to a passive power filter for harmonic filtering and reactive power compensation,but the passive power filter has many difficult to overcome their own shortcomings, so gradually by active power filter are replaced, or and hybrid active power filter to make use of the advantage of two complementary.As a new type of power electronic device, the active power filter can effectively restrain the harmonic and compensate reactive current of the power grid, and it has the characteristics of high accuracy and real-time performance. This paper first introduces the characteristics of ship electric power system, introduces the harmonic source, harmonic suppression and reactive power compensation technology development status of passive power filter and active power filter the principle and classification, discusses the mathematical model in different coordinate system and the working principle of three-phase shunt source the three line with power filter, the space vector modulation technology of instantaneous reactive power theory and harmonic detection method based on PWM command generation is analyzed in detail in this paper, through the PI control algorithm and PR(Proportional resonant regulator proportional resonant controller) control algorithms are compared and analyzed in detail, and the active filter for a the detailed design, finally the simulation of PI control algorithm and PR control algorithm based on Matlab simulation platform.By comparing the simulation results of PI control and PR control, it is showed that the PR proportional resonant controller has better harmonic compensation effect than PI.The correctness, feasibility, stability and practicability of the algorithm are verified. At last,the work of this paper is summarized, the deficiencies are pointed out, and the future research work is prospected.
