Smoke Detector is an important equipment to determine whether have a fire in aircraft cargo hold in-flight, while the traditional smoke detector’s frequent false fire incident has attracted people’s attention. To address the problem of smoke detector’s high false alarm rate and slow response using several fire parameters as the symbol of compound smoke detection, through obtaining more comprehensive information to determine the status of the fire, then improve the accuracy and timeliness of the aircraft cargo hold fire alarm.On the basis of the analysis for research situation and problems, using smoke sensor, carbon monoxide sensor and temperature sensor composed of compound smoke detector, through detecting three parameters —smoke concentration, carbon monoxide concentration and temperature. And using data acquisition card and LabVIEW virtual instrument technology to achieve multi-sensor data acquisition and neural network data fusion, thus complete the aircraft cargo hold compound smoke detector’s design and achieve the intelligent alarm of fire for aircraft cargo hold, solve the problem of false alarm and slow response.The experiment shows, the designed smoke detector system is stable and has a good alarm effect, achieves the performance requirements for smoke detectors of the aviation industry. The detection system also has a strong ability to adapt to the environment and anti-jamming capability, and it has a high availability on fire detection in the aircraft cargo hold.
