With the continuous development and progress of solar thermal technology, People give more attention to the use of solar energy in medium and high temperature. Medium and high temperature solar thermal is area of more space and higher value. The heat from collector system can be used to generate electricity, It is solar thermal power generation. Also, the heat can supply to the department who use heat directly.Such as food and textile industries.There are also many other applications and application forms.This paper analyzes the test theories and test methods related to thermal performance of solar collector tube who is the a core part of the solar collector system. Firstly, we established models of three collector tube model, they were coated metal pipe, non-vacuum metal-straight-through glass collector tubes, metal- glass vacuum tube. We use matlab to solve the calculation model. this paper analysis and comparise the calculated results with the experimental data from the US National Laboratory to prove the reliability of the model.Using physical modeling computational fluid dynamics software to the actual situation of the collector tube is analyzed.The test of thermal performance have steady-state equilibrium method and quasi-static equilibrium method two basic test methods who have advantages and disadvantages. it is considered only a single heat process heat loss. We introduced the basic principle and the basic process of testing of two test methods. The practical application of collector system is the processes of endothermic and cooling.Trough system can test the performance parameters of collector tube and collector real time. It can react the actual working conditions and thermal properties of collector system and tube objective and true. A sound testing theory and evaluation standard is needed. The construction of Axis tracking parabolic trough solar test platform laid a good foundation for the establish and improve sound testing theory and evaluation standard.
