Strong illumination generated by high temperature is one of the influential factors for the airport asphalt pavement structure. Because the high heat absorption performance of asphalt pavement layer, the temperature effect in the asphalt pavement layer is more obvious.Based on the mechanics of the turning areas on the asphalt pavement and using the finite element software ABAQUS, the complex stresses in the internal structure of turning areas on the airport asphalt pavement and rut formation laws are researched here considering the wheel loads and the temperature coupling effect. The above researches can fill the blank of the evaluation of asphalt pavement rut damage condition status in turning areas, which provides the basis for future design and construction of airport asphalt pavement. The research work in detail is as follows:(1)Analyzing the complex stress state of turning area on the pavement during an aircraft sliding turn in the asphalt pavement at a low speed, and a reasonable simplification model is put forward, with which the forces on both sides of the main landing gear were calculated and compared.(2)Steady and transient state analysis based on the finite element software is used to establish the temperature model of airport asphalt pavement structure considering different regional climate conditions respectively. Then the temperature effect depth range under different temperatures and the temperature changes within the pavement structure are obtained here also.(3)Coupling the wheel loads and calculated temperature field, to analyze the rut laws under different situations of different regions a rut model is established and the rut development laws at different temperature fields and different aircraft speeds are discussed here. Further an evaluation index of the rut development is put forward to suit for the asphalt pavement turning areas.(4)Analyzing complex stress state of the pavement structure under the combined effect of temperature and wheel load, shear stress and vertical stress between layers are obtained.Further the asphalt pavement structure model shear experiment device is design to study the stresses in the pavement layers. The results of the shear experiment are compared to the numerical analysis results to obtain the stress of the turning area on the airport asphalt pavement.
