China's economy is developing rapidly and the opportunities of people traveling by plane are growing, civil aviation transportation industry has been getting more and more attention due to its internationalism, rapid time-saving and other features, which has also made the air traffic becoming more and more crowded. Because of the growing number of airplanes, the control of flight cost is particularly important for airlines. Meanwhile, it is also particularly important to provide more accurate 4D flight path information of aircrafts in order to ensure flight safety and smoothness and to control dynamic flight in real time.In this paper, firstly from the perspective of performance computation, it introduces the original data of airplane performance computation(such as atmospheric characteristics, aerodynamic characteristics and engine characteristics), and also introduces the computing methods of airplane performance by stages. Then it makes a research and analysis of theoretical performance and algorithm based on energy state method and simplifies the process through the analysis of kinematical equation of aircrafts and by a combination of kinematic equation of energy state to aircrafts, and it finally gets track features in minimum cost. In the 4D flight path, it firstly introduces the related concepts of 4D flight path, then sets up the track prediction computational models and fits flight parameters by using the collected FPL, real-time telegrams and other data and applying the maximum likelihood estimation method, it finally obtains 4D flight path information of aircrafts by substituting acquired results into computational models. Results in the paper can provide effective help for the construction of the construction of 4D flight management system, and finally its application prospects were predicted.
