With the characteristics of complex structures and hydraulic contact closely, long distance water supply pipeline requires higher safety and reliability. Complicated and varied operating condition is a key technical problem needed to be solved in the process of regulation, as well as obvious hysteresis of flow.The current development status of long distance hydraulic pipeline, as well as the weakness of operation analysis and joint control have been researched in this paper. Based on water hammer theory of pressure pipeline, the hydraulic control was discussed during the regulation process and the head control method was used to achieve joint control of pump station. The digital simulation and visualization in scientific computing have been applied to the research of long distance hydraulic pipeline, based on the MFC and OpenGL technology. Providing a visualization platform of analysis and decisionmaking for engineers, according to the combination of pipeline information, data of working and control decisions.Firstly, the structure of pipeline and operation characteristics have been analyzed, the flow balance model is established. In addition, the hydraulic control of flow regulation is studied to build system-wide flow regulating control model, providing decision support for the joint control of pump station.Based on the study of hydraulic pipeline operating condition, correlative hydraulic model is built. Calculating operating pressure and safety factor of pipeline under various operating conditions by subsection calculation method.Adopting Open GL 3D modeling techniques to draw 3D model of the pipeline on the basis of the unified data structure about the characteristic of pipeline information. Research on the view transformation principle, to achieve multiple perspectives display and browse by panning, scaling, rotating and other operating instruction.For the research and application of visualization in scientific computing about condition data, designing rendering algorithms on the basis of OpenGL color model and rendering principle, to map the operating condition data onto a 3D model of the pipeline. The operating condition can be judged from the color contrast, according to set a color scale.Through building a user interface on basis of MFC framework, VC event handlers and OpenGL graphics display are combined, which realized the function of working condition parameters inputting, model 3D display and brows, and attribute show. According to the actual demonstration, system operation and running effects are presented, which meet the necessary requirements.
