With the rapid development of road traffic, the road traffic accidents have been very prominent, and the road traffic accidents have caused serious casualties and property losses. Safety belt is a kind of safety device which is widely used in automobile and it can effectively reduce the motor vehicle driver and front-seat passenger accident casualties. In the car collision accident, safety belt system is the most important driver and passengers protection device. However, the phenomenon of motor vehicle drivers and passengers not wearing safety belts in our country can be found everywhere. Therefore, it is very necessary to understand the current safety belt wearing rate of Beijing city, study on the safety belt wearing psychology and study on the behavioural experiments for increasing the safety belt wearing rate of the motor vehicle driver and front-seat passenger. So, this paper studied on the behavior of driver and front-seat passenger wearing safety belt in Beijing. In this paper, the current safety belt wearing rate of motor vehicle drivers and front-seat passengers in Beijing city was studied. This study observed the wearing rate of driver and front-seat passenger's safety belt under different roads, different time periods, different type of vehicles, different weather conditions and different sex, and got the basic data. A total of 93160 samples were collected in this paper. Among them, there were 29811 front-seat passengers. Through the statistical analysis of the survey results, it can be found that driver's safety belt wearing rate was 51.4% and front-seat passenger's safety belt wearing rate was 21.6%. The relationship between the factors and the wearing rate was also found. The safety belt psychology of motor vehicle drivers and front-seat passengers was studied in this paper. The reasons of wearing safety belt were studied through questionnaire survey method was studied and the reason were classified into the main reason and the secondary reason. Then, the relevant literature about psychology and behavior was searched to explore more deep-seated reason. The results showed that, according to Maslow's hierarchy of needs, motor vehicle drivers and front-seat passengers in order to meet the safety requirements chose to wear a safety belt. And the main reason of most drivers and front-seat passengers used the safety belt when travelling was they were dangerous when travelling not wearing safety belts. Moreover, according to Freud's theory of personality structure and behavior view of Mises, the testers never wear the safety belt when travelling was the self expression after the war of ID and superego. The ID of the self was in a dominant position in order to get happiness and satisfaction. The behavioural experiment for increasing safety belt wearing rate of motor vehicle drivers and front-seat passengers was studied. This paper studied the increasing effect of seat belts wearing rate under three kinds of stimulus strength experiments through designing and carrying on behavior experiments. Meanwhile, the correlation between the increasing safety belts wearing rate through three experiments and the basic personal situation of the testers was studied respectively. Then, the regression model of the experiments for increasing safety belts wearing rate and the basic personal situation of the testers was established respectively. The experimental results show that the intense stimulation experiment to improve the safety belt wearing rate was the best and the superficial stimulation test was the worst. The superficial stimulation test to improve the rate of safety belt wearing rate had a significant correlation with age, education and driving experience. Moreover, the secondary stimulation test and intense stimulation test had a significant correlation with age, education and monthly income.
