In recent years, with the rapid development of our economy and the advancing of urbanization, the various new buildings arise at the historic moment, how to ensure the safety of the modern building fire has become an objective problem in front of people. Currently fire-fighting methods are still mainly fire hydrant, sprinkler and fire water cannon, which can not apply to increasingly complex indoor large space building and also can not meet the hazardous area of fire extinguishing.Therefore, it has significant practice meaning to develop a corresponding intelligent fire-fighting control system.In this paper, an automatic intelligent fire-fighting control system without operation staff is designed according to features of ground fire in large space. The main functions are: when fire starts in monitored area, the alarming system starts to work, and captures field images with cameras set in current area; identify fire source and fire-fighting monitor jet trajectory with image processing techniques, and control fire-fighting monitor according to calculation to put out fire. The researches in this paper are identification of fire source target and fire-fighting monitor jet trajectory, and fire-fighting monitor control. Camera is installed at proper positions to collect field images. A method to identify fire source targets and fire-fighting monitor jet trajectory is proposed based on color model and outline features according to image processing technologies. With close-loop control, adjust control parameters and fire-fighting monitor direction with reference to differences of coordinates of water point of fall and center of fire source, in order to put out the fire effectively. Finally test experiments are carried out in laboratory and field, and simple analysis and summary of image processing algorithm and work pattern are performed. This paper points a clear direction for the future development of fire-fighting system.Fire-fighting system designed in this paper involved several functional units. Alarming module and control module are accomplished with STM32 ARM processor, target identification is realized with DM642, division of fire source and fire-fighting monitor targets is achieved with transplantation of embedded image processing library EMCV, and control parameters are transported through serial port between modules. Experiments show that the closed-loop fire-fighting system designed in this paper is stable and real-time, and able to give alarm and put out fires in large space, which satisfies requirements of clients.
