This paper analyzes the main components of Cr, Ni, Fe content of stainless steel,uses Pu-238 isotope source and micro power X light pipe for excitation contrast, compares SDD detector with Si PIN detector, to evaluate the application effect of SDD detectors in stainless steel main components of X ray fluorescence analysis through the experiments.In the experiment, Pu-238 isotope sources using dual source are arrang symmetrically, the total activity is 1.48×109Bq; X-rayt tube uses Rh target terminal window structure, using power is 18kV/10?A;the FWHM of the SDD and Si-PIN detector are 136eV and 185eV (for MnKa 5.9keVX ray) respectively. The weighted factor influence coefficient method is used to calibrate the matrix effect.The results show that:(1) The analysis accuracy for the SDD detector is better than that for the Si-PIN detector, and its biggest analysis error and average analysis error are smaller than Si-PIN's.Shows that with better FWHM the detector can overcome spectrum interference and solve the matrix effect better.(2) Monochrome (multicolor) light source has more advantages than continuous X ray spectrum excitation source in the accuracy of the main component analysis of the stainless steel. With high photon output rate, X tube can improve the analysis speed, but it will produce continuous spectrum background and increase the error of the characteristic peak, which lead to the decrease of the accuracy of the analysis.(3) For the experimental system composed of SDD detectors and Pu-238 source analysis, the maximum absolute error of stainless steel main component of Cr, Ni, Fe are 0.19%,0.30%and 0.74%. The accuracy of analysis can meet the requirements of routine analysis.Therefore, X ray fluorescence analyzer based on the SDD detector has the prospect of popularization and application in the field of alloy analysis.
