Nowadays research of engine has converted stress on a simple mean of experimental research into emphasis on a combination of experimental research and numerical analysis. Numerical analysis of engine is already essential for development and improvement of engine. The characteristic of combustion and emission of engine is mainly determined by the fuel, airflow and interaction in the combustion process in the cylinder. For such a complex change in the cylinder, it can use its numerical superiority study through careful internal algorithm to calculate the temperature, pressure and the relationship and law based on changes in time and space.Energy scarcity and environmental protection have become major issues in today's world. Natural gas as a relatively clean vehicle fuel has been proven and applications, while coke oven gas as a hydrogen-rich gas fuel was very low utilization. Research characteristics of a certain proportion of the mixed fuel of coke oven gas and natural gas, which can not only provide a technical reserve of fuel, but also can provide an energy reserve under the conditions of energy scarcity today.The main contents are as follows:In numerical research, this article used CHEMKIN to sensitivity analysis on detailed mechanism, optimized the skeleton through analyzing the reaction path, finally obtained the simplified reaction mechanism that was applicable to natural gas, mixed gas and coke oven gas. Using AVL Boost, this article established a One-dimensional numerical model of a machine. Overall performance of natural gas engine, mixed gas and coke oven gas was studied from the variation of the crank angle and excess air ratio.Using AVL Fire, this article established a three-dimensional numerical model of a machine to simulate working process in the cylinder of engine as which fuels are respectively natural gas, mixture, coke oven gas. Factors of combustion such as temperature, velocity and NOx formation rate were studied to evaluate the overall performance of the hybrid gas engine.In research experiments, under different hydrogen fraction and the equivalent ratio, Premixed combustion characteristics of natural gas mixed and diluted with hydrogen was studied by making use of the spheric flame schlieren images obtained from a constant volume combustion bomb and high speed schlieren system. The relationship that is fuel-air equivalence ratio with Laminar burning rate, flame stability and maximum combustion pressure was analyzed.
