In order to train maintenance personnel and teach students in colleges better and more convenient, after the successful development of A320 maintenance training simulator, the contents of this article is about reconfigurable design this simulator to gain more quality products. The research of this subject from the vertical perspective can improve the efficiency of maintenance personnel training and shorten the training cycle. From the horizontal perspective, the model has good scalability to provide a certain reference for different models.The main work of this paper is as follows.First of all, three contents were introduced as following: related concepts of product family design and as its theoretical basis of axiomatic design theory, reconfigurable design theory basis, the concept of the system modular design, and relationship between it and product family, and module identification method and modular method. These do the necessary matting for product family design knowledge system below the paper.Secondly, according to axiomatic design theory, analyze the product family design process: using the relationship between four domain in axiomatic design theory get the principle of planning of platform and the product family, using this theory guide the whole process of product family design, analyze product family design process, divide design process into three phases which are development of product family system architecture based on the platform, the product family modeling and family members configuration. And then describe concrete steps of the whole process, get the research framework of product family design, and materialize the contents of the research framework, as the theory foundation of the reconstruction design for the maintenance training simulator in the next chapter.Finally, using the product family design framework and process, do the reconstruction analysis for maintenance training simulator, establish its product family system architecture,including the requirement analysis, platform planning and modular design, put forward model principle for reconfigurable design of maintenance training simulator, build its reconfigurable model, conduct configuration on the product case, get product family series, do evaluation on reconstruction design of maintenance training simulator. Main evaluation is to the generalization degree, the total cost and the market effect of the new product development.
