With the development of national energy and construction of major long-distance pipeline, more and more high performance Positive Seal Ball Valves will be used. National Energy Administration and National Development And Reform Commission are willing to produce this valve localization instead of importation as soon as possible. In order to ensure the safety of national energy strategy, save a lot of construction cost and shorten the construction period.Positive Seal Ball Valve is an advanced design, novel sealing structure, long service life product in shut-off valves, which is using of cam mechanism theory to open and close?stem force to achieve sealing. Valve sealing characteristic is research direction of this article, and sealing pressure is basis of judgment. By using 3D Modeling and Simulation Analysis Technology in computer, the sealing performance of Positive Seal Ball Valve can be analyzed. Finally, the simulation results can be verified and researched by the science view that relates theory by practice.In this article, first of all, the subject is based on the structure design of Positive Seal Ball Valve and the theoretical calculation of sealing force, which is a theoretical basis for the later finite element simulation. Then, the sealing principle and the main factors are analyzed. Prototype product is built to 3D modeling by Autodesk Inventor. After that, 3D modeling is imported into ANSYS Workbench to do sealing performance simulation in different medium flow by STP format. This article explores the sealing performance changes and the most important factors of Positive Seal Ball Valve in different flow condition. At last, according to API 6D standard, the prototype product will be tested by experimental demonstration and research, and this article will put forward the method of improving the sealing performance of Positive Seal Ball Valve.This article explores the sealing performance changes of Positive Seal Ball Valve in the actual use, which is a good reference for valve designer when they evaluate the sealing performance in the early stages of product development.
