The landing gear of aircraft is the key part for the safety of the aircraft and it’s the main bearing structure. The nose wheel steering mechanism plays an important role in the aircraft design. With the rapid development of modern aviation technology, the landing gear develops towards more secure and more reliable. Therefore it is meaningful to conduct the research on the reliability of the landing gear. The purpose of the study is to analyze the reliability of an airplane’s nose wheel steering mechanism on the base of the reliability research.The thesis focuses on the model of reliability analysis and the methods for mechanical reliability analysis. On the basis of considering the factors that impact the reliability, various existing modeling methods for reliability analysis are compared. We use artificial neural network to analyze the reliability of an airplane’s nose wheel steering mechanism because the functions are not clear.The airplane’s nose wheel steering mechanism was analyzed by building the simulation model of the nose wheel steering with the use of ADAMS and MATLAB. After series of simulations, we got the input and output results, and then we use artificial neural network to calculate out the reliability and sensitivity. A test system is established for the function and durability test of MA700 aircraft landing gear’s nose wheel steering mechanism, including test jig, hydraulic subsystem and control subsystem, etc. to ensure the success of this test and provide experimental data for the research on the reliability of the landing gear’s nose wheel steering mechanism.
