The Design Research On Public Space Of General Hospital's Outpatient Hall Based On Patient Experience

Under modern medical model, hospital buildings not only use the high technologies but also increase the emphasis on the feelings of psychological and behavioral needs of people. How to create a favorable environment for treatment as well as humane and high efficiency has become very urgent as we are in the face of crowded and noisy, difficult and expensive, three long, and one short treatment problems in the hospitals.The object of this paper is about public space of the large general hospital outpatient buildings, mainly focus on the use Situation and the patient experience issues. From the view of user's experience of the outpatient buildings public space, first, the author did a certain theoretical studies about the public space of the large general hospital outpatient buildings as well as conducted field research. Second, after combined the theory and field research, the author analyzed the distribution of the overall architecture of the space, spatial composition type, the factors influencing patient experience. Base on the above, the author proposed outpatient building public space design elements based on the patient experience. In order to clarify the extent of the impact of various outpatient demand public space issues and to identify the need for patients, the author refer to the patient experience measurement tools and take the site survey based on the general hospital outpatient building public space patient experience form, after got the data by the form, using the statistical methods to quantify and analyze the data in order to find the public space problem of outpatient buildings as well as the method of improvements. Finally, the author made improvement strategies to maximize meet the health needs of the patients, creating a comfortable outpatient building public space.In general, through the theoretical analysis, literature research, field research, the development of measurement tools to quantify and analyze the problem, the design strategies are obtained by progressive layers. As public space of the outpatient buildings is toward to more diversified, the author try to reveal the problems of general hospital outpatient public spaces, clear the new demands of it and put forward some specific design methodologies for reference and inspiration based on the study of patients experience and the principle of more attention to user habits as well as psychological feelings. All above, we hope to reduce the fear and tired of psychology of the hospitals through the well-designed public space. Apart form this, we also hope the public space has a higher quality in the future development based on the harmonious relationship between public space and users.
