The effect of uniform temperature and Non-uniform temperature produced by the sunshine is one of major influence of large span spatial steel structure. Because the steel heat conduction performance is good, the influence of temperature is more significant. Based on the existing research results, this paper analyzes the stress and deformation characteristics of long span space steel structure of transmission tower under uniform temperature field and non-uniform temperature field with the finite element software, and puts forward on the basis for the design and construction of transmission tower of steel structure. Specific work are as follows:(1)Based on engineering structure a large span multiple bar steel structure tower model is built using finite element software. Here beam-column joints are divided into two forms of rigid connection and articulated connection and then the appropriate model parameters are selected.(2)According to the basic theory of temperature effect and the temperature data of the project location, the temperature variation curves are determined.Then 5 temperature gradients are evenly divided according to the daily variation temperature curve, and the deformations and stress characteristics of the structure are analyzed under uniform temperature difference.(3)Through data processing, the concepts of relative scale and safety factors are raised to analyze the deformation stability and strength of security characteristics of the structure.(4) Transient thermal structure coupling analysis model is set up, and temperature field distribution of the structure changing over time is analyzed using the ASHARE model. Further reasearches are made by changing the temperature field distribution parameters.(5) To calculate the deformation and stress of the structure the temperature field obtained from the thermal analysis is taken as temperature loads applying on each node of the structure, and the results provide a reference for design and construction of the large span steel structure.
