Aircraft safety is the eternal theme in aviation industry. Since the aircraft structures become complicated and the working conditions become poorer, many unpredictable factors may result in aircraft fault. It brings new problems to the aircraft fault diagnose, which will increase the operation cost of airlines or even cause serious air crash accident.Aiming at the problems above, a remote visual fault diagnosis technique of aircraft is proposed based on the analysis of civil aviation market and fault diagnosis principle. Firstly,the visualization technology is introduced into the remote fault diagnosis system after investigating the basic theory of visual diagnosis. Moreover, the rationality of this method is demonstrated. Secondly, in view of the complexity of the fault, the visualization fault tree method is established by combining the hierarchically and dynamically generating tree together and then applied to the fault discomposing models. At the same time, a visual“diagnostic behavior” method is proposed to investigate the modeling of remote visual diagnostic behavior, the generation of behavioral attribute graph and the conversion between visual models, which is a new point in this paper. Thirdly, the mechanism of transforming UML collaboration diagram to Petri net is studied. For different structures of the UML collaboration diagram, the algorithm, sequential structure, selection structure and concurrent structure of the transformation are designed, which is another new point of this paper. The algorithm is proved to be feasible and effective through cited example. Finally, a remote visual fault diagnosis system of aircraft is established, which demonstrates that the remote visual fault diagnosis technology of aircraft can effectively forecast and analyze aircraft faults and improve the safety of flight and the economic benefits of airlines.
