By the terminal area airspace capacity increasing, in order to improve the utilization efficiency of the terminal area airspace, it has an important significance to research the method of improving terminal area navigation performance. Researching on the aspects of improving terminal area navigation standard, it puts forward the conceive of improvement PBN navigation specification in the premise of using existed PBN navigation devices. Then using hierarchical clustering method and parameter analysis method about deviation statistics analysis the data of radar track points from Guangzhou airport terminal area to verify this idea, so it provides the theoretical support for easing the congestion status of airspace terminal region of our country and optimization design of SIDs and STARs. Improving the navigation performance of terminal aera in reality. The main contents of this thesis are as follows:Firstly, it briefly introduces the current domestic and foreign research on the ter minal area navigation performance. Then combined with the actual operation of our ter minal area, introduces the research background and significance. Secondly, the concep t of terminal area, structure and navigation rules in terminal area, the content of PBN currently used by the navigation specifications as background knowledge to be introduc ed, and introduces the available method about statistical deviation combined with backg round knowledge. Thirdly, it introduces the method of transforming the WGS‐84 coordin ate for plane to rectangular coordinates, Next, it establishes the hierarchy clustering m odel and statistical model, and the corresponding algorithms are proposed for the tw o model. And then in accordance with the above model and algorithm with experiment al data, it uses MATLAB to analysis, finally, it gained the conclusion and pointed out th e direction of further research. Research shows that, with the existed PBN navigation e quipment, improving the current PBN navigation specification is feasible in theory,so it i s available for improving the navigation performance of terminal aera.
