Blade is the core component of aero engines. As the blade needs to be repaired in each life cycle of aero engine, blade repairing especially tip repairing is the main means to guarantee the engine's work. However, due to the privacy of the foreign technology about advanced blade repairing technology, and the technological difficulties of blade repairing technology, the manual grinding method of blade repairing is the primary means interiorly. But this method can't meet the present repair requirements. In this paper, the six axis CNC Abrasive belt grinding machine is used for NC repairing based on the demand, and an off-line repair system based on UG OPEN API is developed. The off-line repair system includes data measurement, model reconstruction, and processing and repair modules1) Measurement of the data required for the reconstruction of the blade by off-line measurement software. Against the cumulative positioning error caused by the inconsistency between the common measuring equipment and grinding equipment, adopt the contact type measuring method and developed the special off-line programming software of six axis linkage on-machine measurement. By utilizing the high cross section method to obtain the measurement path an d adopting the cutter location planning strategy based on chord error control, to control the error in the cut plane and facilitate reconstruction of points to be processed by, ensure the blade contour reconstruction accuracy.2) Reconstruction of the 3D model of the blade to be repaired based on the measured data points. In order to improve the contour accuracy of the reconstructed model, the deviation of the measurement points in the normal direction of the datum plane is reduced by the reference plane projection. In order to reduce the reconstruction error problem led by the inconsistency between path planning model and to be repaired entity, make the second measurement and secondary reconstruction through the reconstructed model, to improve the reconstruction accuracy and complete surface reconstruction.3) Using off-line grinding software to generate the machining code of the wear region and realize the numerical control repair. Considering that the traditional manual repair there is a shortage of poor stability and big difference. Using Zig-zig grinding path, after analysising of line contact form between the contact wheel and the blade, use a dual vector programming methods to Control a buoyancy pole and the contact wheel center line, at last Combine with the machine structure to generate processing code.Based on the above results, the blade of the turbine engine compressor was repaired. The grinding restoration of the suction and pressure surface was finished, which proves the applicability of the adaptive grinding system, but there are also shortcomings.
