The magnet power supply system of J-TEXT device was powered by a 100 MW pulse generator, which donated by the University of Texas to my school. The prime mover which is a three-phase wound rotor induction motor designed according to the US power grid parameters(12kV / 60Hz) is currently running in China grid parameters(10kV / 50Hz). The operation speed and storage can't reach the nominal parameters. To make the storage unit to run close to the design parameters, the laboratory is developing a set of double-fed speed regulation system to achieve rated speed. The converter play a major role in the double-fed speed regulation system of the pulse generator, its performance directly determines the speed effect and speed capability. This paper focuses on double-fed speed regulation system of J-TEXT 100 MW pulse generator needs. Research and development work of the converter system had been done.In this paper, according to the power to rotation speed curve obtained by the windage experiment, the power of the converter was calculated as 200 kW by curve fitting. Circuit parameters were calculated according to the size of the main power. A model of the main circuit was set by mathematical modeling approach, and double-loop control strategy and vector modulation algorithm for converter control. Control system hardware and software programs was designed around the core as TMS320F28335. The control strategy was simulated by MATLAB, and those results helped optimize the design. The development, installation and commissioning of the converter were completed, and the joint commissioning work of the double-fed system was also achieved under assistance of the converter. The goal that the rotational speed of 100 MW pulse generators were raised to the target speed of 700 R/min was reached and the generators operated reliably.This paper focuses on double-fed speed regulation system of J-TEXT 100 MW pulse generator needs. These works, power analysis, control strategy, hardware circuit design, simulation and testing, through the power of the test had been done. The converter developed in this paper can be achieved the goal of increasing the speed and four-quadrant operation function, which make the foundation for 100 MW pulse generator double-fed speed regulation system safe and stable operation.
