In this paper, for one thing, the high cost and long period of the design on civil multistage axial flow compressors are problems. Considering the demand of the engineering practice, to use empirical parameter of the designed compressors in the past industrial projects. We can re-design quickly a new compressor with the mature blade shape or blade. Such re-designed compressor can meet the requirements of the engineering practice. For another, the adiabatic efficiency,compression ratio or stability operation margin of the compressor may be low as its working conditions changing in a large scope. So there is need to do the matching optimization of multi-axial flow compressor by adjusting stator setting angles with wide speed.One dimensional calculation program is developed Based on a series of experience parameters of the existing similar compressors, it's used to assess the overall performance of multi-stage axial flow compressor. using it to calculate overall performance and check its accuracy,then bringing in S2 stream surface calculation method. Researching the optimization by adjusting stator setting angles over a wide rotation speed range to improve the compressor overall performance.Then re-designing quickly a compressor that satisfying the demand of a wind tunnel engineering. The last, using CFD numerical simulation method to check these results.From the research of this paper, the one dimensional calculation program works well while the compressor geometric parameters or work status change, This method can calculate accurately compressor performance and stage characteristic parameters. The new axial flow compressor can be re-designed quickly to meet the need of new industrial projects,at the same time optimizing the stage-matching by adjusting stator setting angles with wide speed to improve overall performance.It's a great significance for the civil axial flow compressor to spend less cost re-designing more efficient and more stable compressor.
