Traditional seismic strengthening through increasing "resistance" in the structure to solve resistance to the role of the earthquake. However, the study and practice show that the seismic strengthening in essence is using itself as an energy dissipation structure, but under the action of earthquake, it will be in serious damage and cost of seismic strengthening are relatively large. With the rapid development of science and technology, building isolation system has better resistance to earthquake. Therefore, this paper will apply isolation technology for the existing buildings to research the isolation processing methods of existing structure and the vibration isolation performance of the structure.This paper, base on a lot of research materials and research, through the analysis of the structure of existing isolation device and mechanical performance, proposed processing method of base isolation of the existing frame structure. By using numerical simulation method and calculation and analysis of structure performance after the process of the traditional seismic strengthening and base isolation treatment of existing frame structure,three research conclusions are drawn:(1) isolation processing structure of the existing buildings compared with seismic strengthening structure has a good ability to resist seismic action. Comparing the results of numerical analysis of the framework isolation structure with seismic strengthening structure, it shows that natural vibration period extending for 3 times,interlayer absolute acceleration reducing 8 times, interlayer shear force reducing 8 times and interlayer displacement reducing 6 times, which fully demonstrates that isolation processing structure has stronger ability to resist seismic action than the seismic strengthening structure;(2) the advantages of the existing framework isolation processing structure. The method of adding the existing frame structure with the construction of insulation support, will not only affect the normal use of the upper buildings but also need no repair after the quake and what was carried out in the building structure is to replace damaged isolation bearing, which will greatly reduces the construction cost, thus makes the isolation treatment method being usedwidely;(3) horizontal stiffness of laminated steel sheet is important parameters of lead core rubber isolation bearing. If the level of support is too small, upper structure under seismic action will occurs that overturning failure, bearing horizontal stiffness is too large, and the vibration isolation effect is not obvious, therefore, support level stiffness should be controlled in a reasonable range.The results provide reference for further study on the isolation treatment methods of the existing framework structure and vibration isolation performance, and provide reference for the engineering design and construction of isolation treatment of the existing framework structure.
