With the economic development and increase of traffic volume, vehicle with large and overload become more and more year after year, Temperature shrinkage cracking of asphalt pavement has become a problem which can not be solved in Fushun. SBR modified asphalt can improve low temperature anti-cracking performance and reduce cost. According to actual circumstance of Fushun, bitumen test, low temperature bending test, theory of failure energy and ABAQUS are used to study low temperature crack resistance of SBR modified asphalt.At first, Miscibility of modified asphalt, swelling process of modified asphalt and effect of the modifier are introduced in detail after SBR modifier adding to the asphalt from microscopic perspective. Then the causes of the formation of low temperature shrinkage crack of asphalt pavement are analyzed.Secondly, low-temperature performance of asphalt is improved greatly and high temperature performance of asphalt is improved partly thought test between matrix asphalt and SBR modified asphalt. Heavy aromatic oil has a large of aromatics and colloid so that softening point and penetration of SBR modified asphalt are improved, ductility is reduced.Next, low temperature bending test are carried out between common asphalt mixture and SBR modified asphalt mixture under the condition of the optimal distribution and oil-stone ratio. The results show bending strength and failure strain of SBR modified asphalt mixture are bigger which show that low temperature crack resistance of SBR modified asphalt mixture is better than the matrix asphalt mixture.At last, damage energy of common asphalt mixture and SBR modified asphalt mixture are 0.0094867 MPa, 0.0146988 MPa through theory of failure energy under-10?. Low temperature crack resistance of SBR modified asphalt mixture is better than the matrix asphalt mixture with ABAQUS soft and temperature field considering.Low temperature crack resistance of SBR modified asphalt mixture is better than the matrix asphalt mixture through the research, the paper provides a theoretical basis for SBR modified asphalt which is used in Fushun.
