Study On Automotive Human Machine Interface Design Based On Context Awareness

Automotive human machine interface are the interactive intermediates between humans and cars.The availability and usability are influenced by various complicated context information,such as humans,automobiles,and environments.Integrating advanced technologies during the development process,the automobile industry has substantially improved the intelligence level of car.With increasing information provided by car,drivers can get access to more information and thus complete more operation.Traditional automobile interactive interfaces are tedious.Information in traditional interface are often displayed passively,giving no consideration to context during the movement process.Automotive human machine interface based on context awareness can integrate complicated and changeable contexts into the design process,automotive intelligent system is used to perception the context.Thus,the interactive interfaces can offer appropriate active information and service at appropriate place and time without increasing operation burdens of drivers.Real-time information interaction during the movement process can meet practical demands of drivers.This paper researched the definition of context-awareness,analysis the complex information processing of automobile intelligent system,and discussed the process of automobile context awareness including context information acquisition,processing and application.Based on Claude Shannon's liner mode,this paper proposed the context information convey model,and construct the automobile human machine interaction model,provide the fundamental to automobile human machine interaction design based on context awareness.Then,this paper starting from the relevant theories of context classification,classified the context about automotive products,summarizes the characteristics of human machine interaction.By research the common problems exist on context awareness interaction,combine with the characteristics of human machine interaction,this paper proposed the basic context awareness design questions about human machine interaction,what can be provide direction for construct the subsequent design strategy.This paper presents design strategy about automotive human machine interactive interface based on context awareness.During the construction process of design concepts,this paper introduces context elements and establish relevant relationship between contexts and functional designs,this paper defining the organizational strategies of functional information,self-adaptive strategies of interfaces.Through the study of common user-centered design process,put forward considering the situation of human machine interaction design process.At last,this paper puts forward an automotive human machine interface design model based on context awareness.According to design strategy and model what explored during the research,we observed users driving context,this paper designed automobile HUD(Head Up Display)based on context awareness.The automobile HUD could effectively improve the efficiency of access to information and the security of driver.The design practice verified effectiveness and feasibility of the design strategy.Through theoretical analysis,this paper proposed the questions what need to deal with it in the design process.Analysis of the design principle what need to follow,and constructs an automotive human machine interface design model based on context awareness.This paper offers effective guidance and theoretical support for automotive human machine interface design based on context awareness.
