Enlightenment For Modern Package Design From Window Lattice Patterns Of Gaoqian Ancient Houses

Designers put more emphasis on the development and utilization of national elements in modern packaging design. However, some of their works become a mere formality, which leads to the confusion of inanity and unreality and abuse of national elements in the field of packaging design. Therefore, traditional designs can not be applied to modern packaging design reasonably and effectively unless we can understand traditional culture actually and deeply. Combining the field survey and research on the wooden window pattern of Gaoqian ancient houses with its craft thoughts, the paper aims to explore a feasible way to the combination of modern packaging design and traditional designs.
