The urban region is a complex giant system which is far from the equilibrium. The interaction between the components of the urban region are nonlinear. The regional urban of Lanzhou-Xining as one of the important urbanregions in northwest China, is a complex giant system of this kind, and the relationship between urbanization and resource environment is nonlinear. On the one hand, the regional urban of Lanzhou-Xiningeconomic is a pivotal power in terms of GanSu province and QingHai province economic development,which has apparent advantages in geographical location and traffic condition, but the development of the regional urban of Lanzhou-Xining also exists a series of problems,because of natural resources limitation and administrative division; On the other hand, it is rich in mineral resources, but ecological environment is fragile, economic development promotes the economic development,however utilization of resources and environment, brings a series of resources and environmental problems, which in turn restricts the sustainable development of the region. Therefor based on the interactive relationship between urbanization and resource environment in the region, the coupling relationship between urbanization and resource environment in the regional urban of Lanzhou-Xining is of profound theoretical and practical significance.Firist of all, the paper reviews the domestic and foreign scholars on the relationship between urbanization and resource environment research status. Then, arranging the related concepts and theories and combined with qualitative and quantitative methods, the paper analyses the problems in the development of urbanization and the problems in the development and utilization of resource environment and the problems existing in the development and utilization of resources and environment. On the basis of this. First of all, to establish evaluation index system of urbanization and resource and environment, the coordinated development, followed by the use of entropy method to determine the weight of each index, again using the coupling degree and coupling coordination degree model of the four main cities in the regional urban of Lanzhou-Xining urbanization, resources and environment related coupling relationship of quantitative analysis, finally, the results of the analysis, put forward to promote the the regional urban sustainable development through the integration of urban.
