Chengdu improved its socio-economic level greatly through four years practice of urban-rural integration.In Chengdu,the level of urbanization is more than 60%. These data show that Chengdu has entered an advanced stage of industrialization.As a regional center,it will enter a period of changing from a type of megalopolis city to the type of satellite town.Chengdu can not carry the narrow mentality of developing a city based on the concept of cities during their respect of the problems appearing in the process of development to meet their internal requirement.From the history of city groups in the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta,as well as the development of Japan's largest metropolitan area,we can affirm that only from the viewpoint of regional development for Chengdu to build Chengdu-Chongqing Urban Group jointly by Chongqing,and making Chengdu as the core of economic circle,then it can resolve the internal problems appearing in the process of integrating the urban and rural areas.It is the objective principles for the evolution of regional economic space to promoting regional integration in order to achieve urban-rural integration.A city can achieve the integrated development of urban and rural areas through the leading of regional integration of city groups.This is the effective and valid path to push forward the process of urbanization of the Chinese western regions.
