As one of the main riveted connection method of automobile body in white,its quality has been valued by various car manufacturers.The object of riveting connection is generally light metal sheets,connection failure problems may occur during the process of connection,the connection is completed and may appear to lack the strength of the joint,the sheet deformation is too large.This paper mainly uses the method of simulation and experiment to study how to reduce the defects,so as to optimize the process and improve the quality of riveting connections.First of all,this paper studies and expounds the theory of clinching technology.This part mainly summarizes and classifies of clinching technology,and then discusses the forming mechanism of clinching.And then analyses and classifies the joint invalidation form,put forward the direct and indirect index to evaluate the joint quality,and expounds the relationships between process parameters and quality index.Secondly,the finite element simulation of the clinching process is carried out.This part mainly introduces the process of building the simulation model,the arrangement of the simulation group and matters needing attention in the simulation.Then,the simulation results are analyzed,and the influence rules of different process parameters on the joint feature size are analyzed,and the optimal scheme is determined.Thirdly,the mechanical properties of the riveted joint are simulated and optimized.In this part,the effect of different process parameters on the axial tensile strength of the joint is studied.Then the process parameters are optimized by the method of variance analysis and particle swarm optimization,and the optimization results of the two methods are compared.Finally,the experimental study on the deformation of the panels during riveting was carried out.This part was mainly performed through orthogonal test and variance analysis method to study how to the curvature radius,thickness and bending direction of panel affect the panels' deformation after riveting connection,and further analysis the relationship between the radius of curvature and the deformation,the research results can help reduce the clinched panel deformation in engineering,and improve the quality of clinching as well.
