The feasibility for communication application of a type of satellite measurement and control transponder is studied in this dissertation on the basis of its redundant bandwidth design.The system efficiency can be exerted to the full and the service scope can also be expanded to offer reliable satellite communication services for other systems.The main contents and technical achievements are as following:1)The beam coverage and capability of transponders are analyzed.The data conversion software development and data conversion are completed based on the geodesic gain gradient data packet from transponders,and the antenna directions are plotted;The feasibility and performance of communication application are analyzed under different configuration scheme of the ground system with historical data.The preliminary conclusion can be drawn based on the link calculation as follows: the transmission data rate is at least 2Mbps and the transponder can accommodate more than six carriers using the existing Beijing ground station and the stations in Hainan,southwest of Xinjiang and the northeast of China in the mode of symmetrical transmission at the same time.2)The experiment scheme is designed and the bidirectional communication performance test is carried out in the area mentioned above.The test data is obtained in different communication data rate,multi-channel constant rate and non-constant rate network with various cod ing and modem modes.The results indicate that the transponders can realize high data rate communication application without affecting ranging and control.3)Three typical application modes are designed according to user needs analysis,including the central station star network mode,the data distribution communication mode and the user autonomous network mode.4)A Ka-band vehicle communication station is designed to form the basic unit of communication application.It adopts 2.4-meter Ka-band transceiver antenna and the system is equipped with GPS /Beidou receivers to achieve fast seek star function with just pressing a key,and the channel equipment is designed with common module to support communication satellite applications.5)The communication demonstration and verification test is designed and implemented.The results verified the feasibility of communication applications and the operating mode.
