In 2016, Guodian Shaanxi company in southern Xi’an 330 KV substation electrical equipment fire explosion caused by electrified equipment fault. In the vicinity of two km and the explosion of fire and explosion, part of the regional power outage in Xi’an, resulting in reduced reliability of the power grid. At the same time to bring greater security risks to the surrounding residents. City land development is more intense, more indoor substation, substation city residents around the building, the existence of hidden explosive electric equipment safety. So the research for indoor substation explosion relief materials is of great significance.This paper is on the main transformer of electric power engineering indoor substation room explosion relief facilities focus on materials. Comprehensive material performance requirements, materials research theories and methods, material structure analysis, material properties of the methods of comparative analysis, in order to solve the above problems, the material selection for the improvement and refinement of relief facilities, select the appropriate grid project of indoor substation facilities suitable explosion relief materials from the view of material.According to different environment and building structure type selection of corresponding pressure relief facilities. This research draws the conclusion: suitable for the electric power engineering of reinforced concrete structures, pressure relief facilities recommended fiber reinforced cement wall and window wall relief; assembled steel structure, pressure relief facilities and single wall rock wool sandwich plate recommended steel composite plate wall.As the main transformer after the accident the first line of transformer room pressure relief facilities material selection is the key, can effectively reduce the power loss and guarantee the safety of the masses, guiding power of civil engineering indoor substation design choice based on material. After the promotion, the indirect benefit is very considerable.Finally, according to the different environment and building structure type selection of the corresponding pressure relief materials.
