As powerful requirement of explosion proof electrical apparatus, marketingcompetition is more violent in China. Most of disapproved manufacturers sell lots ofunqualified and not certificated ex-proof electrical apparatus. In this serious case, a matureand reasonable enterprise must clearly know of that it should just only follow industrialand regulation standards to design and produce so that its products and itself live longtime.Motors, electrical devices, instruments may produce arcs, sparks and hightemperature when they are used in explosion hazard environment of the petroleum,chemical, military, pharmaceutical and other companies. Once the concentration of thecombustible mixture in the environment reach explosive limit range, it will causeexplosion. Therefore, these electrical products must be designed to be explosion-proofelectrical equipment. Usually the explosion-proof electrical equipment is explosion-proofsecurity by flameproof enclosure. The enclosure is specially designed for explosion-proofstructure parameters. It has a resistance to burst and no passing explosion.Explosion-proof electrical device is a special kind of electrical products. The failureof any explosion-proof electrical products may result in significant loss of personal andproperty. So the design for explosion-proof electrical products must strictly refer to therelated product design standards. At the same time they should be served as an importantbasis for explosion-proof electrical product design, manufacturing and inspection. Firstly,the appropriate electrical explosion-proof type should be decided according to hazardousarea. Secondly, the level and temperature groups should be selected by taking the hazardenvironment which may exist flammable and explosive gas/dust type into account.Thirdly, the influence of explosion-proof performance caused by other environmentalconditions like chemical corrosion, salt spray, high temperature and humidity, dust, rain, or vibration impact should be considered. Fourth, the installation and maintenance ofparticularity should be ensured.The explosion-proof principle of explosion-proof electrical equipment is that keepingthe electrical parts in a special enclosure which can isolate and cut off the spark and arccrust between inside and outside atmosphere. Also the explosion-proof enclosure can bearthe explosion pressure generated by the detonation of the arc.By studying on relative standards, at first we calculated enclosure’s mechanicaldesign specifications in draft, and then made3D model for enclosure in order to simulatein theory of elasticity. Finally we manufactured sample by rapid prototyping aftersimulation passed. The sample was passed all test, so it is considered that the design metproduct requirements for enclosure.
