With the significant declines of oil price,the global marine equipment market falls sharply.To adapt the weak market conditions,shipyard has to reduce their cost of production.Different form the foreign advanced design concepts and rich application experiences of the jack-up platform,the Offshore engineering equipment manufacturing in China is still in a backward stage.Therefore,by studying and improving the advanced foreign design concepts,reviewing and summarizing the design experiences of domestic shipyard,the enterprise design cost can be effectively reduced and the production efficiency can be significant improved.Then,the enterprise can get dominant position in the complex and competitive market.The cooling water system is one of the most important systems on the drilling platform.It is responsible for cooling all heating elements on the drilling platform,which plays an important role in ensuring the normal operation of all the equipment.Based on the existing design experiences and heat transfer theory and hydromechanics;this paper gives a detailed summary of various kinds of cooling water system,further describes the design framework of cooling water system and explains the balance and pipe resistance calculation methods.Besides,the relevant application examples are given.According to the production design and the site construction experience of the modern shipbuilding,this paper analyzes and summarizes the design ideas and production methods of pipeline.Then,the pipe properties of automatic fill and extract are improved by secondary development,i.e.the additional information of pipeline’s cabin has reflected in the model and this information can be exported in the form of drawings and tray tables.Based on the above improvements,the production management and installation can be more easily and design efficiency can be significantly improved.This paper designs a cooling water system of jack-up platform,summarizes the practical application experiences,and proposes some useful advises for improving the design and production efficiency.It has certain reference significance for the future design and production work of the cooling water system.
