The Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-century Maritime Silk Road is becoming a hot topic recently since it was proposed in Central Committee of the Communist Party of China:Recommendations for the 13th Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development published in December,2015.It focused on the traffic problem again and also shows that economic development is inseparable from the development of transportationLots of traffic models are developed by scholars to identify and investigate the characteristics of traffic flow including macroscopic continuum models,car-following models and cellular automata models.Car-following models are now widely applied in traffic studies because the vehicle is treated as dispersed which is interaction between the particles and can be easily realized by computers. In the actual traffic flow, drivers are not homogeneous and the heterogeneity of drivers is common. In the psychological system, there are many differences such as gender, age, social and economic level, education level, health status and other individual differences. Some of these variables are related to traffic flow modeling, which directly affect the path and speed of the vehicle under given operating environment and time.Although there are a lot of researches on the driver heterogeneity, they do not start with driver heterogeneity. Therefore, this paper is based on a large number of trajectory data and intends to conduct in-depth research on the driver’s behavior. It puts forward the scientific classification, establishes the parameters of random distribution of car following model and analyzes the environmental impact of different types of vehicle factor. The main works of this studies are:(1)Introducing the driver heterogeneity,car-following model, vehicle fuel consumption and pollutant emission in detail.Based on the NGSIM data,we classify drivers who have the following behavior on the basis of the clustering analysis method.Combined with the characteristics of different categories of drivers, drivers will be named as "rash and obtuse","rash and sensitive","cautious and obtuse" and;"cautious and sensitive".(2)Introducing the GHR model, the linear regression analysis of the GHR model which is dealt with linear processing is carried out.The distribution of the parameters of the different categories of drivers is calculated and the parameter distribution is combined with the driver categories.(3)Introducing and applying the VT-Micro model and the distribution of fuel consumption,CO2 emissions and NOx emissions are calculated according to the regression coefficients. It is found that drivers with "cautious" attributes are generally more efficient than "reckless" drivers in terms of fuel consumption and pollutant emissions. In contrast with the "reckless" driver of the property, the same performance is more stable in the above aspects and its volatility is far less than the "cautious" driver.
