Extended range electric vehicle,which can overcome defects of power battery,is considered to be the most effective method to achieve energy saving and environmental protection in the traffic field,and people pay more and more attention to the research and development of auxiliary power unit,the core component of extended range electric vehicle.Auxiliary power unit,also called extend range device,consists of the engine and generator,and provide extra demand power for vehicle.In this article,auxiliary power unit controller is designed based on auxiliary power unit of extended range electric vehicle.First of all,according to the operating characteristics of auxiliary power unit and project functional requirements,the overall module design scheme is determined,including the definition of the input and output control signal type,the selection of the main control chip,power supply converter and signal processing circuit key components of auxiliary power unit controller.This paper develops a auxiliary power unit hardware system for extended range electric vehicle based on Infineon 32-bit MCU TC1782.The hardware system includes the core system of the MCU,power supply module,signal processing module,CAN communication module etc.After the design of circuit schematic and PCB using Altium Designer software,welding the circuit components and hardware debugging is completed.Then,in consideration of auxiliary power unit operating traits,three-working-point energy management and torque coordinated control strategy is developed.it established Engine model,generator model and APU control strategy model using MATLAB/Simulink and Stateflow,the off-line simulation platform of auxiliary power unit control strategy is established in the MATLAB/Simulink,completing the functional validation of control strategy.The driver software is established by DAvE and the control strategy code of auxiliary power unit controller is automatic established by RTW based on strategy Stateflow mode.After integrated the control strategy code and driver software of APU by TASKING software,the APU control software is completed by downloading the machine code.At last,this paper developed a hardware-in-loop simulation platform based on Autobox dSPACE which can achieve the real-time data transmission with CAN.The hardware-in-loop simulation results show that the performance of the APU control system can meet the functional requirements of APU different working mode.It provides a reference for further research on extended range electric vehicles.
