The Narrative Spatial Research Of West Lake

The West Lake is a typical symbol of the Chinese hydraulic society,a kind of Chinese garden paragon that was stereotyped in the Song dynasty,furthermore it is a historic urban landscape that formed under the action of the purpose of water conservancy construction,the landscape aesthetics,the blessing and the public touring.However,there has plenty of demolition,reconstruction,renovation and other phenomena in the construction and renewal of West Lake,a great deal of archaeology lost its historical color and obliterated its rich cultural atmosphere gradually.Thus,it has become a focus that how to utilize the natural resources and historical context to reproduce the natural scenery and shape the humanistic image of the West Lake.This article explored the possibility of forming the human image of West Lake through the excavation of natural and human resources from the perspective of narrative space.What's more,summarized the macro,medium and micro three levels of research methods through the extension of time,space and events in narrative space:Macro—combing the space-time cues,in order to construct the overall frame structure of narrative space that provided an vital theoretical basis for the renewal and maintenance of West Lake,it is necessary to excavate the historical narrative resources and to sort out the historical context of West Lake.Medium-uniting the spatial language,that meaning through the creation of the theme of space and the arrangement of sequence to create an orderly,narrative space.Micro—attaching importance to the narrative expression,found the fitting point between narrative and space,integrated its narrative information into the space through the application of narrative techniques,on this account we can convey the historical and cultural connotation of the West Lake.Finally,this method was applied to the case study of narrative space in Fuzhou West Lake,excavated the context of Fuzhou West Lake,constructed the narrative structure,and analyzed its narrative expression,then made an analysis of the overall evaluation of 'SWOT' in the present situation of Fuzhou West Lake,which was in order to provide some targeted suggestions for the construction and protection of Fuzhou West Lake in the future.This case analysis was also provided a reference template for other West Lake's research.The first use of narratology is applied into the research of West Lake in this paper.On one hand,it can help us to determine the historical value of space through the integration of narrative resources and the analysis of narrative space in West Lake.On the other hand,it can provide some referential suggestions for the renewal and protection by analyzing the advantage or disadvantage of narrative elements in important nodes of West Lake.This research method not only has the practical value for West Lake,but also directive to other similar historical gardens.
