The urban landscapes among different cities are becoming increasingly resembla nt as economy developed.Landscape elements like "European Small Town" and "Pari s Impression" are appearing in every big cities in China.Under the impact of global c ulture integration,the challenge of how to blend local regional cultural elements into c ities landscapes has drawn everyone’s attention.As the most attractive and active place in urban cities,waterfront areas are the ke ys to form cities’ landscape structures and to build great images for cities.So the focus on this paper is going to be the research on the application of Lanzhou’s regional cult ure in waterfront landscapes.To star with Lanzhou’s regional culture and cities’ waterf ront landscapes,the following questions will be solved by using references,examinin g on the spot,inducting and deducting.(1)The specific content and the characteristics of Lanzhou’s regional culture.The c onnection between Lanzhou’s regional culture and cities waterfront landscapes.(2)Analyzing the design of waterfront landscapes from the aspects including its space type,constitution elements,characteristics of landscapes,ecological effects and relationships between cities and waterfront landscapes.Bringing the design of cities waterfront landscapes into ecological landscapes constructions with urban green space system plan as premise in order to maximumly optimize the ecological environment of urban cities.(3)Settling the conflicts between citizens demand for entertainment in waterfront landscapes space and the following destructions brought by those entertainments by utilizing reasonable plan and design of waterfront landscapes.(4)Concluding the expression strategy of Lanzhou’s regional culture in waterfront landscapes through analyzing and researching of practical applications of regional culture elements in waterfront landscapes.In addition inductively figuring out the vector to express intangible cultural atmosphere in tangible landscape space.(5)Accomplishing the design of Yintan Yellowriver Wetland Park with distinct Lanzhou regional cultural elements by utilizing the above research results.
