In order to reduce the steam leakage and improve the efficiency of the steam turbine,many new types of steam seal have been appeared in the market.Brush type steam seal and rotor "zero" contact can effectively reduce the leakage of steam.Therefore,this paper selects the brush type steam seal as the research object.Based on the ANSYS software,the two-dimensional model of brush seal leakage and internal flow characteristics are simulated;Based on the traditional brush type steam seal,4 kinds of new brush seal models are proposed.The brush seal structures are simulated;By calculating the force on the tip of the brush,using the friction heat flux formula,the heat flux of the contact surface between the brush and the rotor is calculated.The temperature field distribution of the inner and the rotating shaft is analyzed by means of the software;Combined with power plant steam seal energy-saving transformation example,the leakage of low pressure cylinder diaphragm seal and shaft end seal were calculated before and after the transformation.The heat consumption rate changes before and after the transformation were calculate.The results show that modified the labyrinth seal to brush seal,low pressure cylinder to reduce the leakage of steam is 1.2883kg/s,the heat consumption rate of steam turbine is decreased by 49.89 k J/(kW?h).The brush seal has good sealing performance,so the brush seal is used more and more widely in power plant.
