With the increasing of frequency adjustment pressure and power system load’s difference between peak and valley,pumped storage station is developing rapidly.How to dispatch it to meet the demand of pitching peak and frequency adjustment is a serious issue.It is an indispensability link to formulate units’ day-ahead generation planning for power system’s operation.Dispatcher schedules units’ 0/1 state and generation level to ensure the total cost minimum on the basis of morrow load curve.Based on analysis pumped storage station dispatching current situation,it worked out pumped storage station day-ahead generation planning optimal model in the view of energy conservation generation dispatching.Hydroelectric and thermal units’ load economic assignment was take into account as so as units’ combination problem.The restrains included thermal units’ generation climb limit,minimum stop and star time limit and pumped storage station’s reservoir limit.Aimed at the problems of low convergence,slow resolving speed and trapping in local optimum by basis PSO algorithm,an improved particle swarm optimization(PSO algorithm)was proposed.The basis PSO algorithm imported chaos theory to work out bad convergence and local optimization problem.The calculation examples analysis of simulate system and practical system displayed that the model can reduce system’s total generation cost.And the thermal units’ generation curve was more stable and avoided frequently star/stop after day-ahead generation planning optimization.
