Arch-supported single-layer lattice shell,which combined with arch and lattice shell,is a new form of hybrid structure system.It synthesizes the advantages of both arch and lattice shell.On one hand,the arch structure can improve the overall stability of single-layer lattice shell because of its high rigidity in-plane,on the other hand,the lattice shell,as the lateral support,can strengthen the out-of-plane stability of arch.Based on the roof steel structure of the new gymnasium of Tianjin University of Commerce,the mechanical properties of the arch-supported single-layer lattice shell will be studied in this paper by two kinds of finite element software,ABAQUS and MIDAS Gen.The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)Firstly,Loop trusses,arch trusses and single-layer lattice shell were setup in accordance with the architect design.Static analysis,dynamic analysis and nonlinear stability analysis of the arch-supported single-layer lattice shell were conducted considering different loads and load combinations specified by related codes.(2)The global model with reinforced concrete frame substructure was established and studied by comparing with the roof steel structure.The effects of reinforced concrete substructure on the roof structure was analyzed considering different loading conditions.How the lateral restrain stiffness of support works on the performance of the roof structure was discussed in detail.Thus,the simplified design method of the typical gymnasium with RC frame substructure was concluded.(3)The effects of the truss structure on the roof steel structure was studied by comparing the performance of single-layer lattice shell,loop truss and lattice shell and loop truss and arch-supported single-layer lattice shell.And then how the stiffness of the truss works on the hybrid structure was discussed.Two stages of transferring load,shell to truss,was established while the arch truss is strong enough.(4)The capacity of the roof steel structure to resistant progressive collapse was studied by “equivalent unloading law considering the initial state” and static analysis method.The dynamic response and static performance of the roof steelstructure was compared considering that one or more supports fail simultaneously.Thus,whether the roof steel structure would collapse progressively or not was evaluated based the results.
