With the increase of car ownership, the contradiction between energy supply and demand is becoming more and more prominent, and how to improve the fuel economy becomes more and more important.Gasoline direct injection technology, homogeneous charge compression ignition mode and variable valve actuation technology can effectively reduce fuel consumption, and has been widely used. And combined with the motor and the Atkinson cycle engine, hybrid electric vehicle is undoubtedly a new bright spot in recent years of energy-saving emission reduction technology. In this paper, based on the variable valve technology,in a Atkinson 1.5L cycle engine, through simulation and experimental method, select the optimal cam shaft, intake manifold and combustion chamber matching scheme, the purpose is to meet the premise of full load power output, improve the fuel economy of 1500-3500 rpm,so as to match hybrid electric vehicle.Firstly, the Atkinson 1.5L cycle engine model was built by GT-POWER software and the average fuel consumption of different intake manifold and the external characteristics were calculated.According to the simulation results, the 240 oCA and the 8mm of the cam shaft lift is selected.Secondly,We made the new air intake manifold and the combustion chamber, and the new system of the combustion chamber increases the extrusion gas surface.Combined with the simulation results, seven experimental schemes are formulated, and the performance of the different schemes is compared with the performance of the inverted drag power, the average fuel consumption and the external characteristics, and finally the selection scheme seven is chosen as the final scheme. This paper earlier draws the complete experimental data of Atkinson cycle engine fuel economy optimization at home, and the minimum average universal characteristic fuel consumption dropped to below 230g/kW h,engine effective thermal efficiency is about 36%,close to international advanced level. It has important significance to promote domestic HEV research and development.
