Power transformer plays a key role in transformation of voltage level in power system,is the connection of the power system and is very important.Whether power link or power transmission, transformer is indispensable. The faults of the transformer often lead to a wide range of influence, and results in unstable power supply in a certain area.Considering the high cost of transformer,to ensure the safe and reliable operation of power transformers is very important. The research of inrush current has been a hot spot. After years of research,a variety of methods can be used to identify the inrush current, and their advantages and disadvantages are also obvious.A sympathetic inrush study started very early, but for quite some time, and no more attention by researchers.Until recent years, scholars have turned their eyes to sympathetic inrush research.MATLAB/Simlink is used to build the model to simulate the inrush current and sympathetic inrush, and the causes of the two kinds of inrush current are described in detail, and the characteristics of the two kinds of inrush current are also analyzed. The grey system is a system that is not comprehensive and uncertain. It can be said to be a system with both information and unknown information. The emergence of inrush current and sympathetic inrush is random and the information is not comprehensive,so it can be identified by using grey system.Through the analysis of the different features of the inrush current, with four different identification index as a criterion, this paper uses grey system theory to identify the inrush current of transformer,in order to better identify inrush and to improve the reliability of transformer.
