The impact of Industrial 4.0 on discrete manufacturing is huge.There have been changes in the market demand and the diversity of orders and other unpredictable "turbulence" factors.Therefore the success of manufacturing enterprises can not only rely on product cost and quality,but also needs the fastest response speed and maximize the ability to meet the demand of users,which is the flexibility of the manufacturing system.The past literatures focuses on the flexibility design of manufacturing system.Basically,there is no recognized quantitative method in academia to measure the flexibility of manufacturing system.This paper is based on the current development of the manufacturing system to describe and evaluate the flexibility.Firstly,according to the actual situation of manufacturing system,this paper extracts the evaluation index of the flexibility.Secondly,this paper establishes a three-dimensional model of the flexibility evaluation of the manufacturing system in terms of the performance,efficiency and switching costs of the manufacturing system.The ability to deal with the customer's demand is taken as an evaluation index of the performance of manufacturing system.In combination with production waste and the overall equipment efficiency,a comprehensive evaluation index of the efficiency of manufacturing system is established.The cost of responding to environmental changes is used as a representation of conversion cost indicators.The paper will establish the three-dimensional mode to quantitatively evaluate the degree of flexibility of the manufacturing system.Then,taking the manufacturing system of X company as the object of study,and combining with the actual operation state of the manufacturing system,a case study is carried out to verify the correctness and availability of the above model.The realization of Information technology is conducive to dynamically describe and evaluate the degree of flexibility of the manufacturing system.Finally,in order to facilitate the managers to have a more intuitive understanding of the flexibility of the manufacturing system,this paper presents a manufacturing system flexibility management system based on the HTML5 standard.This paper is based on the flexibility evaluation of manufacture system as the main line,and a three-dimensional model of flexibility evaluation of manufacturing system is developed from the performance and efficiency of the manufacturing system,which is suitable for the evaluation of the degree of flexibility of discrete manufacturing.The method can provide flexibility measurement for manufacturing enterprises,especially small and medium-sized manufacturing systems,which has a good theoretical basis and practical significance.
